Encubator, program for startups that design future of planet
Encubator, the program created to identify new technological projects in the field of climate tech and sustainability and make the most of their potential, is restarting. It is an initiative promoted, for the third consecutive year, by the Chamber of Commerce of Milano Monza Brianza Lodi, PoliHub - Innovation Park & Startup Accelerator and Politecnico di Milano.
The goal is to identify the best teams capable of designing technologies that solve the most pressing environmental, economic and social problems of our time, supporting them in growth through acceleration programs, grants and access to investments.
Encubator is aimed at university spinoffs or spinoffs from research centers and Italian, European and international early stage startups, capable of offering solutions to the main challenges in the fields of climate tech and sustainability to accelerate the energy transition, make cities and transport more sustainable and reduce waste towards a circular economy model.
Applications are open until November 10 on www.startupencubator.com; the acceleration program will end in June 2025.
During the final in January 2025, an institutional jury will award the most promising projects.
The winning startups will have access to:
- an equity-free cash grant worth 40 thousand euros, of which 25 thousand euros for the development of the project and 15 thousand for the acceleration program;
- an acceleration program, managed by PoliHub, lasting 4 months, to support the technological growth and business validation of the startup;
- a network of founders, mentors, experts, companies and investors actively involved in the climate tech and sustainability sectors;
- a demo day, in which startups will be able to meet investors, take a privileged path to access seed investments and a corporate day to get in touch and develop business opportunities with partner companies.
In its third edition, Encubator establishes itself as a reference point in the climate tech ecosystem for the birth and growth of young companies that make sustainability their business model. This is demonstrated by the number and importance of partnerships put in place, as well as the growing membership: in 2023, more than 230 entrepreneurial teams responded. In line with the development policies indicated in the first Strategic Sustainability Plan of the Politecnico di Milano, the University believes in and invests in young researchers capable of translating research into innovation, into new fundamental solutions to accelerate the energy transition.
