Politecnico di Milano at the 24th Triennale Milano "Inequalities"

Two installations explore environment and gender, making inequalities visible through technology and space.

Publish date

Politecnico di Milano is taking part in the 24th International Exhibition of Triennale Milano “Inequalities”, running from 13 May to 9 November 2025, with two installations that address the theme of inequality from two complementary perspectives: the physical world and the virtual one.

The first immersive installation, “NOT FOR HER. AI Revealing the Unseen”, is the result of a collaboration between the Departments of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, Design, Architecture, Built Environment, and Construction Engineering of Politecnico di Milano. It is a project that combines research, design and technology to focus the spotlight on gender inequality through artificial intelligence. The immersive path unfolds in two stages: a multimedia triptych that critically reinterprets “life hacks,” digital formats that often convey unconscious bias, and transforms them into tools for ethical and inclusive reflection; an interactive experience where an adaptive AI simulates a job interview replicating discriminatory dynamics in the professional sphere. A technological yet deeply human reflection.

The second installation, “The Space of Inequalities: Environment, Mobility and Citizenship”, curated by the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies (DAStU) and the CRAFT Research Centre at Politecnico di Milano, offers a collective narrative and reading of inequalities from a territorial perspective, articulated in three thematic focuses: climate impact, access to resources and limitations to mobility, lack of citizenship rights due to housing and service exclusion processes. The installation is structured on two levels: a global narrative through three immersive short films featuring international voices, and a local representation of the Milan metropolitan area using maps, data, and a dedicated physical model.

Two perspectives, two immersive experiences, one common goal: to reveal what remains in the shadows and turn technology into a tool for awareness
