The Education & Development area of POLIMI Innovators is dedicated to developing the skills needed to transform knowledge and innovative ideas into entrepreneurial projects and innovation initiatives. Through dedicated learning pathways and tools, the area supports students, researchers, and innovators in developing entrepreneurial, managerial, and transversal skills that are essential for operating in technological and highly complex contexts.
The aim is not only to provide tools to understand markets, business models and development strategies, but also to foster the development of leadership, collaboration, communication and uncertainty management skills. In this way, Education & Development helps create the cultural and professional conditions that make the creation and growth of new innovative projects possible.
Objectives and activities
The Education & Development area promotes training focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, offering learning opportunities that enable students and researchers to gain a broader understanding of research valorisation opportunities. Activities are developed through training programmes, educational initiatives, and opportunities for discussion with entrepreneurs, innovators, and ecosystem experts. These experiences enable participants to develop concrete skills to analyse technological opportunities, understand market dynamics, and build innovative projects.
A central element of this area is the possibility to access flexible, modular training content, designed to support participants at different stages of their development path, from discovering entrepreneurship to the maturation of more structured projects.
Tools
To support the development of entrepreneurial skills and foster connections among people, ideas, and opportunities, the Education & Development area provides a range of tools and initiatives. Some are focused on training and learning, while others are aimed at creating opportunities for discussion and networking among students, researchers, and actors in the innovation ecosystem.
EDU Playlist
The Edu Playlist is one of the main tools of the Education & Development area. It is an organised collection of training content dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship, designed to offer students and researchers a flexible and accessible learning path. The playlist brings together teaching materials, lessons, testimonials and thematic content covering different aspects of the development of innovative projects: from understanding market needs to building business models, through to the development of transversal skills such as leadership, communication and teamwork. Through this tool, participants can build their own learning path progressively, acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to develop innovative ideas and prepare for the subsequent support phases offered by POLIMI Innovators.
The Edu Playlist is currently under development and will be available soon.
Ideas Meetup
Ideas Meetups are informal meetings and opportunities for discussion for the University’s community of students and innovators. These meetings provide a space to share ideas, discuss early-stage projects, and engage with other students, researchers, and innovation professionals. Ideas Meetups foster the development of new collaborations, exchange across different disciplines, and the building of relationships that can lead to new entrepreneurial projects.
Innovation Events
Innovation Events are events dedicated to the presentation and discussion of innovative ideas and research valorisation projects. On these occasions, researchers and teams of students and researchers have the opportunity to present their initiatives to an audience of other innovators, ecosystem experts, potential industrial partners and investors. These events represent an important opportunity to foster the circulation of ideas, identify possible co-founders or collaborators, and create connections with the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Pitch Events
Pitch Events are moments designed ad hoc around the teams, mainly students, and the ideas being presented. They are not only opportunities for presentation and discussion, but also moments structured to place projects in the best possible conditions for growth: the audience is in fact selected and engaged according to the specific needs of the teams, including skills, profiles and perspectives able to make a concrete contribution. Pitch Events may be integrated into Innovation Events.
